Communications planning & project management

Like most things in business, communications require a plan for success. Communications planning includes strategic goal-setting,  background research, environmental analysis, audience intelligence gathering, key messaging, product development and delivery, and measurement. JDO Communications has developed short-, medium- and long-term communications plans for corporate clients since 2007.

Change is difficult to manage within organizations. Information technology upgrades and business process changes can sometimes leave even the most engaged employees feeling overwhelmed, frustrated and angry with leaders who are challenged to communicate the positives and address the potential negatives resulting from organizational change. By raising awareness, we can create employee desire for change, knowledge sharing opportunities, growth in employee abilities and reinforce positives related to change in the workplace to ensure long term success. Change requires excellent project management.

Websites and Social Media

With the advent of open source Content Management Systems like WordPress and Drupal, accessing the web for small business marketing has never been easier or more affordable. JDO Communications has built a lot of websites over the years and developed a ton of multimedia content for distribution over the web. Here are some samples:

No Guts Know GloryNo Guts Know Glory was the successful climbing campaign to climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents by Robert Hill. The campaign raised awareness of intestinal disease on a global scale. Climb sponsors ConvaTec, Abbott Laboratories and the Intestinal Disease Education and Awareness Society engaged JDO Communications to provide website development, blogging, multimedia content development, social media strategy and writing services on behalf of the campaign and the Great Comebacks® program. Many videos were created for their YouTube channel as well.
Uncover OstomyUncover Ostomy is an awareness program of the Intestinal Disease Education and Awareness Society in partnership with model and ostomy patient Jessica Grossman. JDO Communications provides strategic vision, web and Social Media development/monitoring services, video production and measurement services for the campaign. Over the past 18 months the blog has averaged over 5,000 unique readers per month and the Facebook page has grown to approximately 3,100 fans, making it the most popular ostomy-related content on the social network by a wide margin. The campaign has garnered multiple media stories and countless blog posts, comments and discussion posts on third-party websites. JDO Communications is proud to play a role in sparking a positive online discussion about the ostomy.
Colo-Majic
Colo-Majic wanted to give their online presence a new look. This project grew from a website design to a complete branding and online marketing exercise: we created a new logo, new search engine optimized website, multimedia content, new print advertising materials, conference/event product marketing materials and Google Adwords campaign.
CarolynDew.caCarolyn Dew is a Victoria, BC based Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. Knowing she needed to create an online resource for her patients, she approached JDO Communications with a simple request: take her existing patient materials and put them online in an appealing format, capturing the essence of her practice. So we did.
