John is a graduate of the University of Victoria’s professional writing program. After cutting his teeth in a full-service communications shop, John has completed a wide variety of consulting contracts for a diverse group of clients since 2008.
John’s education, interests and talents led him to focus in engagement communications–skills often applied in an internal corporate setting. He’s a member of the International Association of Business Communicators. He’s committed to ongoing professional development to better serve his clients.
Electronic mediums are his primary tools; John understands social media tools and normative cultures. He engages on his own and works online communities on behalf of his clients. He’s set up Facebook, YouTube and Twitter corporate/brand properties and provided strategies for companies to have success on these platforms.
A passionate advocate, John’s communications work has led him to Mount Everest, twice, to tell the story of a climber who overcame great physical and psychological adversity to stand on top of the world and demonstrate to people around the globe living with his illness the sickness can be beat, that quality of life does matter.
John has a broad range of skills he can leverage for you. He knows when to resource others too; he regularly engages visual design and video editing experts to help meet client needs.
